Hyndburn GP Branch Closures Consultation
Residents are being invited to share their views on proposed Hyndburn GP branch closures affecting ARG Healthcare branch sites in Great Harwood and Rishton.
The branch sites were temporarily closed during a transition period after Pendle View Medical Centre took over services at ARG Healthcare in Accrington. NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) is now consulting on proposals to make the closures permanent.
According to the ICB, the proposed Hyndburn GP branch closures are based on historically low usage of the sites and the availability of nearby GP practices already accepting patients.
How could the closures affect residents?
The consultation gives local residents the opportunity to share how the changes could affect access to healthcare services in Hyndburn and surrounding areas.
Patients registered with ARG Healthcare will still be able to access services at the main Blackburn Road practice in Accrington. Alternative GP practices are also available in both Great Harwood and Rishton.
At Galloways, we understand how important accessible local healthcare services are for many people in our community, which is why we wanted to help share this information.
