Rising to the Challenge: The Spectacle Factory Climbs Snowdon

This May, a team from The Spectacle Factory will be taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Snowdon in support of Galloways.

Together, they’re aiming to raise as much money and awareness as possible, while stepping outside their comfort zones and taking on a challenge that will test them both physically and mentally.

Meet the team taking part:

Emma

“My name’s Emma, and I’m part of the senior optical team at The Spectacle Factory. Outside of work, my real passion is the outdoors — I love exploring the countryside, whether it’s a gentle walk or a more challenging hike.

I’m also passionate about raising money for charity through my walking challenges. I’m incredibly excited to be taking on my biggest goal yet — climbing Mount Snowdon — all whilst supporting a cause that means so much to me.”

Robert

“I’m Robert, the Vision and Style Consultant at The Spectacle Factory. I keep active by playing football regularly and have taken on hikes before, so I’m really looking forward to this challenge.

I’ve worked in the optical industry for almost 20 years, so partnering with Galloways feels like a natural fit. I also create educational videos for our YouTube channel, which now has over 180,000 subscribers, and I’m excited to collaborate further with Galloways through this.

It’s a great opportunity to stay active, challenge myself, and support such an important cause.”

Faizah

“I’m Faizah, Senior Marketing Executive at The Spectacle Factory. I’ve always enjoyed walking, but I’ve never taken on a hike like this before — so it’s a real challenge for me!

Charity is a big part of my life, and working with Galloways makes me incredibly proud. I’m really looking forward to taking on this challenge with the team and raising as much money and awareness as possible for such an incredible cause.”

Elizabeth

“Hi, I’m Elizabeth. I was part of The Spectacle Factory team up until late 2025, and I’m now preparing to start university in September to train as a dispensing optician.

I’m really excited to support such an amazing project and take on this challenge alongside like-minded people. I enjoy hiking, and I know this experience will push me out of my comfort zone.”
