Showdown Table Top Sport

Showdown Table Top Sport
Showdown is a fast-paced and exciting table sport designed specifically for people with sight loss. Often described as a cross between table tennis and air hockey, it combines quick reactions, skill and friendly competition. Whether you’re completely new to the game or looking to improve your technique, Showdown is a fun and inclusive activity suitable for all abilities.
About this activity
Showdown is one of the few sports created specifically for blind and partially sighted people. Players use specially designed bats to strike a ball containing ball bearings across a table, using hearing, touch and quick reactions to score goals against their opponent.
Our sessions provide a welcoming environment where everyone can enjoy learning the game, improving their skills and meeting other people with sight loss. Whether you’re playing for fun, building confidence or hoping to compete, everyone is encouraged to take part at their own pace.
Thanks to funding from the Primary Club, Galloways has been able to develop and support Showdown sessions.
