Get Books, Audiobooks & More Delivered to Your Door – Free from Lancashire Libraries

At Galloways, we believe everyone deserves access to books, stories, and information, no matter their circumstances. That’s why we’re excited to share Lancashire County Council’s Home Library Service, a completely free service that delivers library items straight to your door.

If you can’t visit your local library because of age, sight loss, disability, poor health, or caring responsibilities, this service helps you stay connected to the things you love.

What Can You Get?

Lancashire Volunteer Partnership works with local libraries to deliver:

  • Books, including large print and braille

  • Audiobooks, ideal for people with visual impairments

  • Music CDs and DVDs

  • Magazines and language learning tools

You can use the service long-term or just for a short period—such as during recovery or in the winter months.

Who Can Use It?

If you struggle to get out, this service offers a practical solution. A friend, carer, or family member can collect items for you. If you don’t have someone available, a trained volunteer can deliver them right to your home at no cost.

How to Sign Up

Joining the service is quick and easy:
