Galloways Blind Baseball Players Take to the Field in Bootle!

A group of our amazing Blind Baseball players were recently invited to take part in a friendly match with the Liverpool Trojans Baseball Club Blind Trojans team in Bootle, that took place in June 2025.

Here, Learning Skills & Lifestyle Manager, Andrew Coleman, shares in his own words the experience of the group.

Andrew commented “This was a fantastic opportunity for our players to experience a new setting, meet others from the wider visually impaired baseball community, and put all the skills they’ve developed over the past year into action.

The sun was shining, the energy was high, and the teamwork and encouragement on display were second to none. Whether it was batting, fielding, or just enjoying being part of the team, every single player gave it their all — and had a brilliant time doing it.

A huge thank you to the Blind Trojans SAVI Northwest for the warm welcome and for hosting such a fun and inclusive session. Days like this are what our Sport England–funded “Be Healthy, Get Active” project is all about — building confidence, making connections, and showing what’s possible when inclusive sport is accessible to all.”

We’re excited to keep building on this momentum as we continue to grow our Galloways Blind Baseball Team. If you’d like to get involved, it’s never too late to come along and give it a go!
