Digital Recordings - Goodbye Cassette Tape
Galloway’s is changing the way it produces its talking newspapers and magazines. After 30 years of recording on tape we are to transfer to making recordings on USB Audio Plugs and CDs. In the future all weekly publications will be produced on memory sticks and all monthly ones will be recorded onto CDs.
This "Change over" project is well underway and currently the Ormskirk Advertiser, Chorley & Leyland News and the Farmers Guardian Talking Newspapers are available on USB Audio Plugs. In addition to this, many of Galloway's monthly publications are now available on CD this includes Bible Alive, The Lancashire Eye, Lancashire Hotpot, Talking Reform and The SEE. The quarterly Four seasons recording and both Methodist prayer manual and United Reformed Church prayer handbook are also now on CD.
Transcription service
We also offer a transcription service recording publications for organisations such as district councils, the Police, housing associations, commercial organisations and the NHS.
For further information on this aspect of our work please see the Lancashire Vision Services website .
Audio Described Film Library
Galloway’s has a small but growing library of audio described DVDs. All are available on loan free of charge from Howick House. Just return them to us once you’ve used them. The DVDs have an extra commentary dubbed on to them describing the non verbal action. The catalogue is available online.
